Hospitalist Dr Beard Resigns at HMH

A hospitalist at Howard Memorial Hospital has resigned. Dr. Charles Beard resigned effective October 7th. The program to implement in-house physicians at the hospital started in early 2017. Dr. Ede will continue and NES, who provides the hospitalist staffing, has arranged for a temporary physican to provide coverage until the end of the year. An individual has signed an agreement to accept the role as hospitalist and will start in January.

The 2020 budget, approved at Tuesday’s meeting, listed a total amount of $917,089 to cover the salary cost, insurance and other expenses of two hospitalists.
